Yoga is a holistic, healing discipline that helps support personal transformation, healing, and health for each individual. It addresses all dimensions of the human system: body, breath, mind, personality and emotions.

The underlying focus of Yoga is to remove obstacles and distractions by eliminating ‘old patterns’ in the body/mind and create new links that change our perspective and create a positive experience throughout the whole system.   

Both Yoga and Ayurveda are interrelated healing disciplines that come from the Vedic system that originated in India 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda is referred to as the ‘healing side’ of Yoga and Yoga is as the ‘spiritual side’ of Ayurveda. When used together they offer a complete holistic approach to healing the body, mind and spirit.  

In today’s fast pace society, more and more people are finding that Yoga offers a valuable learning process that can help each of us deal with stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and back pain, not to mention other ‘complaints’ that we experience.  

Yoga is more than just what we do on the mat in our asana practice, it is what we take and apply off the mat and into our daily lives that are most important. It is a self-empowering process, so, as a teacher, I work with each individual to create a healing practice that is customized to his or her needs and lifestyle.

Yoga offers us a different path—a re-awaking—that will allow you to reconnect with your body and integrate a new mind-body awareness that is more vital and alive. In our work together I will help you to integrate the underlying principals of the Alexander Technique into your asana & meditation practice. When these two disciplines work together your movement is freer, your breath is more connected and your state of mind becomes more balanced.  

It is important to remember that true healing comes from within each of us, not from an outside source.  

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditation technique that allows you to renew, rest and rejuvenate your whole system on a very deep level. 

Nidra means ‘sleep’, Yoga Nidra takes you to a very deep place between sleep and wakefulness, where the unconscious mind is functioning at a deeper level: it is sleep with a trace of deep awareness.  

Yoga Nidra creates greater self-awareness that allows deep healing to take place in the body and mind not from a place of ‘doing’ but from a place of ‘being’.

Generally done lying down in a supported savasana pose, using guided imagery and body scanning to bring about a complete relaxation throughout the body and mind. Sessions generally last 45 minutes and can be recorded to take home and used on a daily base.

Yoga Nidra is a complimentary therapeutic aid to your other practices that you are dong in your daily life.

It is said that a half hour of Yoga Nidra is like 4 hours of sleep!
